Disability Summit 2017

NHS Employers is holding a second disability summit in our Horizon Leeds venue on Friday 19 May 2017. The event which will be our showpiece to end NHS Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Week 2017 #EQW2017, has been developed and co-produced by employers and people with disabilities, who will lead much of the day.

The host for the day is Kate Nash, creator and CEO of PurpleSpace, a networking organisation for disabled staff in the workplace. We will also have contributions from NHS England and national disabled charities such as Mencap, alongside the thoughts of award-winning spoken word artist, Jaspreet Kaur.

The confirmed programme will give delegates the opportunity to hear the latest on policy, practice and the importance of disabled staff networks. This will be an energetic interactive day which aims to find solutions, encourage conversation and challenge thinking through interactive and provocative debate.
