To support employer organisations with retaining staff, NHS Improvement has published a new resource, Retaining your staff: a practical guide.
The ability of the NHS to retain staff in clinical roles remains a key issue of strategic importance to workforce leaders across the NHS, and it is hoped that the new guide will offer practical advice and examples of what other NHS organisations have been doing.
Responding to publication of NHS Improvement’s new resource, Danny Mortimer, chief executive of NHS Employers, said: “Employers across the NHS will welcome publication of this new resource from NHS Improvement, which provides a hugely helpful framework for employers taking action to improve retention of their people, particularly in key clinical roles.
“The key themes identified reinforce those highlighted by NHS Employers in our retention guide, published in the Autumn of 2017. The excellent case study examples in particular demonstrate the impact of work already in place across the NHS.
“As we move into 2018, NHS Employers look forward to working with Ruth May and her team at NHS Improvement to support employers to apply the best practice available to them.”
