Return to practice programme launched

Women in labs

The Department of Health, in collaboration with Health Education England (HEE), has launched a new initiative to support allied health professionals (AHP) and healthcare scientists (HCS) return to practice.
Piloted in the East Midlands by HEE, the programme is now being expanded across the whole of England. It supports AHPs and HCSs whose registration has lapsed or for those who have not registered for over five years since qualifying. Upon completion, this programme will allow them to return to the register.
The programme is looking for employers to support clinicians with clinical placement days, allowing them to update their skills and knowledge.
Please visit the Health Education England website if you think your organisation could support a returnee, or if you are aware of any AHP or HCS looking to return to practice.
