Public Health England have today released the first figures for the 2018/19 flu season showing that 6,785 more frontline healthcare workers received the flu vaccine from 1st September 2018 to 31st October 2018 compared to the same period last year.

So far a total of 444,505 frontline healthcare workers have received their flu vaccination or 46.3 per cent of all eligible healthcare workers in England.

NHS Employers would like to congratulate trusts on the hard work they have put into their flu fighter campaigns to promote the flu vaccine, especially during #jabathon week from 8-12 October when over 11,000 staff were vaccinated.

We would also like to commend the following trusts for achieving the national target of 75 per cent flu vaccination uptake among healthcare workers so early in the season.

  • Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Papworth Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • St Helens and Knowsley Hospitals NHS Trust
  • University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust
  • Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
