EU Settlement Scheme pilot reminder

EU flags

The Home Office's EU Settlement Scheme pilot for EU citizens working in the health and social care sector will close at 23:59 on Friday 21 December.

Please ensure that your EU staff are aware that they can complete and submit their application before this time. After this time, the EU settlement Scheme pilot will close so that the Home Office can make further improvements to the system. While the scheme is closed, staff will not be able to access their application.

There is no obligation for EU staff to participate at this stage, however, if they do, they will obtain their pre-settled status or settled status ahead of when the scheme opens fully at the end of March 2019.

The links below provide all of the information that you need to know to inform your EU staff. Please help and support your EU workers to complete an application by making this information available to them.

  • Briefing pack – this document contains an overview of the pilot, who is eligible and how the application will work. It also contains a series of links to further information on GOV.UK.
  • Email template – this is a draft email for you to send from today to staff who are eligible to apply. Please feel free to tailor this as required or to replicate the content for your other internal channels.
  • Poster – for displaying on staff notice boards.

Your EU staff can apply for the EU Settlement Scheme pilot by visiting the government website.
