Healthcare Science Week 2019 is running from 8 – 17 March 2019. It is a fantastic opportunity for your organisation to promote and raise awareness of the many science careers, pathways and development opportunities available in the health sector.
The annual celebration, which runs alongside British Science Week, began in 2005 and enables healthcare scientists to share what they do with the local community to inspire the healthcare science workforce of the future.
This year, NHS Employers and the Office of the Chief Scientific Officer are inviting NHS organisations to get involved to make Healthcare Science Week 2019 a real success.
How to get started
Getting involved in Healthcare Science Week is easy, as there are many ways you can take part. In previous years NHS trusts have hosted events within hospitals and gone out to schools in the local community.
Engage with your lead scientists and science ambassadors now to encourage involvement and secure time in diaries.
Take a look at what took place across hospitals, schools and colleges during last year's campaign, in our twitter moment and last year's calendar of events.
Share what you have planned
NHS Employers will be hosting a map of events which will feature activities from across the country, allowing you to see what other trusts are doing. To showcase your planned activity, email HCS@nhsemployers.org with a brief outline of the date, activity and the lead contact for the event. Remember to use #HCSweek19 so we can include your events in our social media round-up.
Healthcare science teams will be promoting their work to their colleagues and local community so make sure you and your organisation are involved in the celebrations.
