Disability Summit speakers confirmed

Disability Summit: Changing mindsets, embracing difference. 30 April 2019

An engaging line-up of speakers are confirmed for this year’s Disability Summit - Changing mindsets, embracing difference. Taking place on 30 April in London, speakers include author, mental health campaigner and former NHS chief executive Lisa Rodrigues and Dr Hannah Barham-Brown a disabled doctor and Tedxspeaker.

In addition, hosting the summit will be Dr Ian McPherson OBE, Chair of Surrey & Borders Partnership Trust and also Kate Nash OBE, Chief Executive of Purple Space, a networking organisation for disabled staff in the workplace.

Held in partnership with NHS England, the summit will bring together staff with disabilities, leaders, managers and practitioners from across the health and social care sector to share lived experiences of disability in the workplace and showcase good practice.

Key themes for the day include: 

  • the role of line managers in managing disability in the workplace 
  • reasonable adjustments
  • visible and invisible disabilities
  • the power of networks
  • talent management
  • leadership development.
