Public Health England have released the latest round of flu figures which show over 20,500 more healthcare workers have received their flu vaccination from 1 September 2018 to 31 January 2019 compared to the same period last year.

So far, a total of 708,021 frontline healthcare workers have received their flu jab or 68.6 per cent of all eligible frontline healthcare workers - an increase of 1 per cent compared to the same period last year.

The latest statistics are only 0.1 per cent behind the 2017/18 season's overall flu vaccination uptake, suggesting an optimistic outlook for the 2018/19 end of season uptake figures.

We would like to congratulate trusts on the hard work they have put into their campaigns to promote the flu vaccine and commend the 94 trusts who have already achieved the national target of 75 per cent flu vaccination uptake.
