NHS Employers sponsor new HSJ award for reservists

Star award

We are pleased to announce that NHS Employers is sponsoring the new Reservist Support Initiative Award at this year’s Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards.

The award has been launched to recognise organisations who are excelling in retaining and developing the careers of reservists within the NHS. Since the Ministry of Defence announced plans to increase the number of medical reservists within the Armed Forces in 2012, NHS Employers has been working with many organisations to develop support for NHS reservists. Through this work we have seen a huge amount of positive support being offered by employers who recognise the value and benefits that reservists bring to the NHS.

This award is a way of celebrating organisations that are displaying innovative ways of working, such as running activities to share the experience of reservists or creating lasting partnerships with local units to embed support into the culture of the organisation.

The HSJ Awards also include the Military and Civilian Health Partnership Award, which celebrates excellence in healthcare and health improvement for the Armed Forces community and champions projects which can demonstrate support of the specialist needs of members of the Armed Forces community.

For further information and to enter, take a look at the HSJ Awards website.
