Nominations are now open for the Women in Defence UK Awards 2019.

These awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals and teams working in defence, and is a chance for your organisation to show its continued support to the Armed Forces community by putting forward worthy nominees. There are multiple categories, providing plenty of opportunities to recognise the work of members of the Armed Forces community within your workforce.

This year’s award categories open for nominations are:

  • Inspirational Award

  • Outstanding Contribution Award

  • Most Collaborative Award

  • Emerging Talent Award

  • Innovation Award

  • Unsung Heroines Award

  • Special Award (this category is for individual women whose achievements do not fit directly under one of the other categories)

  • Promotion of Gender Balance Award (also open to individual men)

  • STEM in Defence Award (open to women, men and teams)

  • Inclusive Teamwork Award (only open to teams)

Seven of the categories are open to individual women only, with two further categories open to teams (which can be of mixed gender). The Promotion of Gender Balance Award and STEM in Defence Award are also open to men who deserve to be recognised for their contribution to encouraging women to join science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in defence.

Nominations will close on Friday 10 May. For further information on how to nominate, including full requirements for each category, see the Women in Defence UK website.
