NHS Standard Contract new requirements

Blurred croud

The 2019/20 NHS Standard Contract includes a new requirement for trusts to implement the Thriving at Work report standards.

The Thriving at Work report launched in 2017 by Lord Dennis Stevenson and Paul Farmer is an independent review into how employers can better support the mental health of all people currently in employment including those with mental health problems or poor wellbeing.

NHS England state the 2019/20 NHS Standard Contract requires that commissioners and providers agree a service development and improvement plan, to set out how the provider will produce, implement and communicate a staff mental health and wellbeing plan in line with the recommendations set out in the report of the Stevenson / Farmer review, Thriving At Work.

To help you implement the standards we have collated free tools and resources against some of the recommendations from the report.

For more information on the NHS Standard Contract, see the NHS England website.
