The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) are running a series of workshops to gather employer feedback on how they can refine the approach to overseas registration further.
The NMC is currently reviewing the way it assesses professionals who trained outside the European Union and who want to work as nurses and midwives in the UK or as nursing associates in England.
The aim of the review is to make it simpler and quicker for overseas nurses and midwives, trained from outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) to register with the NMC.
The following workshops will be held across the UK and are open to employers and those who recruit and train nurses, midwives and nursing associates from overseas.
The dates and locations are as follows:
- Belfast – 29 May
- Edinburgh – 13 June
- Cardiff – 20 June
- London – 25 June
- Manchester – 27 June
The workshops will provide you or your recruitment staff with an opportunity to learn more about the changes the NMC are making and how they will affect recruitment from overseas. Delegates will also be able to feed into the NMC’s Shaping the future strategy for 2020-2025.
