The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has launched a new engagement exercise to understand what would help create the work-life balance NHS and social care staff want.
Both NHS and social care staff have highlighted the need for flexible working opportunities, and the NHS Long Term Plan acknowledges that inflexible working patterns make it harder for people to balance their work and personal obligations.
The DHSC is asking:
- What kind of work-life balance are you able to achieve now, and what prevents you from having the kind of work-life balance you’d like to have?
- Does your employer have policies and procedures that help you achieve the work-life balance you require? What would make it better?
- People value flexibility for different reasons at different stages of their lives. What do you value flexibility at work for?
