Free mental health conversation training for NHS staff

COVID-19 health, safety and wellbeing

Training is now available for NHS managers, supervisors, and those with caring responsibilities for NHS staff, to talk about mental health and wellbeing during and beyond COVID-19.

The sessions will help managers identify team members who may be struggling with their mental health and learn how to confidently initiate supportive wellbeing conversations.

The training is underpinned by the REACT technique comprising of:

  • Recognise
  • Engage
  • Actively listen
  • Check risk
  • Talk about specific actions.

The training sessions last up to 1 hour 15 minutes and are run remotely.  To book your place, create / sign into an account and then book a training session on NHS England and NHS Improvement's Our NHS people event page.

The training is provided by psychological health consultancy, March on Stress, which provides training in managing stress and wellbeing in crisis situations.
