New blended learning nursing degree

Book and Laptop

A new blended learning nursing degree programme has been announced by Health Education England to provide a flexible study option for those wishing to pursue a career in nursing.

Starting from January 2021, the blended nursing degree will combine digital and traditional elements of learning and help to attract those who may previously have had barriers to a nursing career.

The interactive and integrated programme will make it easier for students to balance their studies with family or caring commitments, creating a significantly different offer in nursing education that also supports the development of digital competencies.

HEE has signed up seven universities to deliver the new degree; Open University & Middlesex University, Open University & University of West of England, Coventry University, University of Huddersfield, University of Sunderland, University of Gloucestershire and Birmingham City University.

Applications will open in the autumn. For more information about the programme visit HEE's blended learning nurse degree page.
