As part of Black History Month and our wider work to improve race equality across the NHS we have published a new case study.
The case study highlights how North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust took steps to work with regional black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) organisations to recruit ambassadors and raise awareness of employment opportunities and services available to the BAME community.
The organisation developed a successful pilot which increased:
- the number of BAME people applying for jobs, including non-executive director and associate director roles
- awareness of the services available to the BAME community
- understanding of the support services available, for example language translation.
