New COVID-19 school, nursery and childcare closure FAQ


A new FAQ, which outlines what staff pay should be when children are sent home from school, nursery or childcare due to COVID-19 has been published as part of the COVID-19 workforce guidance FAQs.

The FAQ covers the following scenarios:

  • Where a child has a suspected case or confirmed case of COVID-19 and there is a government requirement for the employee to self-isolate
  • Where a child is sent home due to a COVID-19 case in their bubble and there is no government requirement for the employee to self-isolate
