Update on shielding period

COVID-19 indemnity and litigation

The Secretary of State has announced that people who have been identified as clinically extremely vulnerable will need to continue to shield until 31 March 2021.

A letter from Matt Hancock and Robert Jenrick, sent on 15 February, advises those who are classed as vulnerable to continue to follow the shielding measures that were introduced on 7 January 2021.

The time frame has been extended from the original date of 21 February 2021, as the risk remains particularly high for those considered extremely vulnerable.

The government has advised that they will provide an update in mid-March.
