Health Education England (HEE) has recently published information about its new programme to address health inequalities, by reviewing and aligning specialty training placements to the areas of greatest need across England.

The project aims to ensure an equal distribution of training places and funding across the country and has so far considered three specialties, cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology and haematology.

The plans also include what specialties the programme will be looking at next.
