Ethical recruiters list updated

The ethical recruiters list has been updated after the Department of Health and Social Care published a revised Code of Practice.

We have updated the ethical recruiters list, following revisions to the Code of Practice for overseas recruitment earlier this year, removing organisations that did not reaffirm to the revised Code and any that no longer recruit internationally.

On 2 August 2022, the Department of Health and Social Care published a revised Code of Practice for the ethical international recruitment of health and social care staff in England. In line with the update to the Code of Practice, NHS Employers asked organisations already on the ethical recruiters list to reaffirm their commitment to the updated version of the Code of Practice.

Following the reaffirmation process, NHS Employers has updated the ethical recruiters list. This has included removing organisations that did not reaffirm to the revised Code and any those that no longer recruit internationally. We have also updated the ethical recruiters list with organisations that have recently applied to join. These applications were made using the new (two-stage) application process, which now includes recruitment organisations and collaborations, as well as agencies,

NHS Employers updates the ethical recruiters list on a monthly basis, and we encourage all employers to check the list every time they undertake international recruitment, even if they plan to use a recruiter they have worked with before. This is because the list of ethical recruiters is updated regularly, and organisations can be removed if they have been found to breach the Code of Practice, no longer recruit internationally, or have dissolved.
