Earlier this week (Wednesday 29 June), we hosted a webinar supported by the Occupational English Test (OET) to highlight its new Hidden Talent guidance and to share practical examples of how NHS organisations are helping overseas nurses to fulfil Band 5 roles.
The webinar showcased practising clinical educators and the support they are offering internationally educated nurses (IENs) working in unregistered roles with attaining their PIN. There were also stories of IENs who have made the transition from support roles to becoming a Band 5 nurse and beyond.
Chaired by Vickie Hage of NHS Employers, speakers included Emma Longden from OET, Mark Doblas and Jane Posa from Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, Karen Mechen from Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, and Nicole Riodan from Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The presentations were followed by a question and answer session.
