International HR Day - celebrating our NHS people professionals

NHS organisations are being encouraged to recognise their HR and OD professionals as part of International HR Day, on 20 May.

6 May 2022

International HR Day takes place on 20 May and is an opportunity to celebrate the work of all HR and OD professionals.

The theme for this year’s International HR Day is HR Shaping the Future and NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSEI) is encouraging health and care organisations to get involved.

NHSEI wants to use the day to recognise HR and OD professionals and highlight the contribution they are making to colleagues and patients in the NHS.

There are three main ways to get your organisation involved:

  • You can nominate HR and OD colleagues who are rising stars, or have gone above and beyond in their work, for a chance to win tickets to the HPMA Conference and Awards (see details below).
  • NHS people professionals are encouraged to upload a 1-2 minute video to Twitter and LinkedIn throughout May, giving their thoughts on - “How can the people profession shape the future world of work in the NHS?”
  • And you can support the day on social media, using the Twitter hashtags #internationalHRDay #NHSPeopleProfession.

For more ideas and inspiration, see the International HR Day website.
