We sponsored the compassionate leadership award at this year's CAHPO awards and we are pleased to announce the winner.

The Chief Allied Health Professions Officer (CAHPO) awards is a unique opportunity for allied health professionals (AHPs) to receive recognition for their personal contributions towards delivery of exceptional care for patients. The awards promote adoption and dissemination of good practice being delivered by nominated AHPs, and gives teams the chance to review their work and look at the impact they have made to services.

This year, NHS Employers sponsored the compassionate leadership award which was won by Sue Ramsey, clinical specialist physiotherapist at East Suffolk and North East Essex Foundation Trust, for her immense dedication to patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last night, 14 October, AHPs from across the service came together virtually where Sue was presented with her award by Paul Taylor-Pitt, assistant director at NHS Employers. Paul said:

"Judging this category was pure joy as the calibre was so high. We chose Sue as our winner as she demonstrated an incredible blend of empathy, support and role modeling in her approach to leadership. Congratulations on your well deserved win Sue!"

We would also like to congratulate the winners of the other award categories and the people shortlisted for the compassionate leadership award. You can catch-up on the excitement from the night on Twitter using the hashtag #CAHPOAwards2021
