In January 2019, NHS England and the General Practitioners Committee (GPC) England published Investment and evolution: a five-year framework for GP contract reform
to implement the NHS Long Term Plan.
The agreement translates commitments in the NHS Long Term Plan into a five-year framework for the General Medical Services (GMS) contract effective from 1 April 2019. These changes apply in England only.
