Do OD is the expert resource on organisation development (OD) for health and care, delivered by NHS Employers in partnership with NHS England and Improvement.
Power is a central issue in OD, yet we don’t always feel comfortable working with, using or talking about it. Understanding power and all its different dimensions is really important in our OD roles and work. As OD practitioners we need to be able to work with power in our organisations and systems and also understand how we use our own personal power.
The Do OD team and members of our NHS OD community wanted to develop a resource that would help in this work. Through a series of workshops we created a tool for self reflection, conversations with others and for action planning.
We posed the question ‘how can we have everyday conversations about power?’
After sharing a version of the resource at the 2020 Do OD conference, it has proved to be so successful that we have now developed this as an online tool as part of the Do OD app.
To access the tool download the Do OD app and join the conversation.
