Organisational development (OD) is a rewarding and often challenging career. As practitioners we have privileged access into peoples’ working lives and the behind-the-scenes working of our organisations and systems. We have access to quality line management within our existing structures as well as mentoring and coaching via Do OD and the Leadership Academies.
OD supervision is something we have an interest in exploring further. The concept of supervision may be familiar to clinicians, coaches and counsellors but it isn’t consistently available to OD practitioners. Supervision is different to coaching and mentoring. The purpose of supervision is to support your professional and personal practice, using reflection and learning to maintain and improve the quality of your practice. Supervision can be a powerful and transformative experience.
We’re keen to explore what OD supervision in the NHS could look like, building on existing good practice and identifying where we can add value. If you’re interested in having a conversation about this please email your details to firstname.lastname@example.org
and we will share our findings from this initial inquiry through this web page.
We’d love to hear your experiences, your hopes, your dreams and your advice on this important topic.
