- Facebook first took to the world wide web on February 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, Dustin Moskovitz, Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum and Chris Hughes
- Today, Facebook has over 1.71 billion active users, 4.5 billion likes generated daily and 1.57 billion mobile active users
- In 2011, YouTube had received more than 1 trillion views – around 140 views for every person on Earth.
There are 313 million active Twitter accounts worldwide - over 12.4 million of these are in the UK that's 19 per cent proportion of the UK’s 65 million population
Instagram has 500 million daily active users with 14 million being in the UK
Instagram has a much younger audience, 39 per cent of its UK users are aged 16-24
