Following the result of the EU referendum, there are many questions regarding the implications for the NHS workforce. Current arrangements around recruitment and employment of individuals from within the EU remain the same until 1 January 2021 if the UK leaves the EU with a deal. The government have announced guidance on EU citizens rights coming into the UK if the UK leaves with no Brexit deal.

On 21 June 2018, the government published a statement of intent giving details of how the EU settlement scheme will operate. Our EU settlement scheme web page gives further information about the scheme and how you can prepare as an employer to support your EU staff.
