NHS Employers hosted a week dedicated to streamlining in the NHS during 1–5 April 2019. On day one we focused on the national streamlining programme and showcased a variety of initiatives and learning, with the aim of educating, sharing good practice and inspiring other organisations to review their recruitment and induction processes to increase efficiency and improve the experience of staff as they move around the NHS.
We heard from our national streamlining groups on how they bring together regional programmes to share, learn and influence nationally to support regional programmes. In a podcast Alan Duffell, director of workforce, Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals shared his passion for streamlining, his role as the chair of the national streamlining steering group, and the progress and achievements it has made to date.
Sarah Kilner, programme manager for North East streamlining shares in a blog details of her role as chair for the national streamlining operational group and the work it has been involved in.
