The NHS Employers organisation is responsible for representing employers' views in national negotiations on the Agenda for Change pay system, that covers over one million NHS staff. We also provide ongoing support and advice to employers who are responsible for supporting staff.
The NHS terms and conditions of service handbook contains the national agreements on pay and conditions of service for NHS staff other than very senior managers and medical staff.

The latest Pay Circular (AfC) 1/2016 has details of the latest payscales (effective from 1 April 2016) for those on Agenda for Change terms and conditions in England. Our Agenda for Change pay scales poster has now been updated following this.

Job Evaluation (JE) is a key part of the Agenda for Change pay system. JE enables jobs to be matched to national job profiles, or allow trusts to evaluate jobs locally, to determine in which Agenda for Change pay band a post should sit.
