NHS Terms and Conditions of Service (TCS) advisory notice 02/2021
This notice advises of the publication of version 45 of the NHS terms and conditions of service handbook.
The NHS Staff Council has negotiated changes to the terms and conditions and the list of amendments, effective from 13 September 2021, are detailed below.

The new section for England and Wales sees the introduction of a contractual day one right to request flexible working arrangements. Amendments also see a re-emphasis on the requirement for organisations to be more explorative in trying to reach a mutually workable outcome, and monitoring requests to ensure greater consistency of access. |

This section now only applies to Scotland and Northern Ireland in light of a new Section 33 which applies to England and Wales only. This section has been renamed to Section 33: Balancing work and personal life (Scotland & NI). |

The addendum below advises of changes to version 44 of the NHS terms and conditions of service handbook.

Annex 2: Pay bands and pay points on the second pay spine in England |
Pay scales for the financial year 2021/22 have been updated to reflect the 3 per cent uplift. This is a consolidated increase to the pay bands and pay points from 1 April 2021. |

Revised presentation of the pay structure now all reform to the pay bands is complete. There are no changes to the pay values. Final transitional pay points in bands 5, 6 & 7 have been removed. |
