Hazel Wyton

Director of Workforce Solutions and Engagement

Hazel joined NHS Employers in 2022 and has held a number of directorships within the organisation, the most recent being her current role as the director of workforce solutions and engagement and in which she is responsible for setting up and leading the new workforce solutions function that will sit alongside the national engagement service in the brand-new directorate of workforce solutions and engagement.

Prior to this Hazel was director of engagement and before that programme director for the delivery of a number of improvement projects.

Hazel is a member of the NHS Employers senior leadership team and the NHS Employers Policy Board. She has over 20-years’ experience of operating at board and senior management level positions within the healthcare industry, and with over 35 years’ experience of working in a professional HR function in large acute NHS providers, private healthcare, and not-for-profit organisations.

Immediately prior to joining NHS Employers, Hazel was the chief people officer at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, one of the largest and busiest NHS trusts in the country. Her strength lies in leading highly performing teams and creating inclusive workplace cultures, as well as having a commercial mindset with a focus on taking forward opportunities to assist the NHS people profession to maintain and enhance its prominent position and in being ready for the future world of work.
