Kathryn Grayling
Kathryn joined NHS Employers in May 2020.
Before this Kathryn had a clinical career spanning almost 30 years in which she held several leadership roles. Kathryn’s drive to contribute to workforce policy arose when she worked across arms-length body partners to shape and influence the experience of work in the NHS. Recognising that clinical leadership could add value to employment practices Kathryn joined NHS Employers for the opportunity to work alongside strategic workforce leaders where she could contribute to the ‘future of work’ agenda.
In her role as assistant director of engagement Kathryn creates space for organisational directors of workforce to discuss the challenges and opportunities faced within regions and to disseminate good practice. Kathryn uses her detailed knowledge of healthcare and expertise in knowledge mobilization to ensure that leaders are provided with the evidence needed to facilitate dialogue with regional and national bodies on key issues of workforce policy. Kathryn additionally leads on social partnership working across the North of England, promoting integration and joint working with regional and system partners and trade unions.
