Melanie Coombes MBE

Mel became chief executive in January 2021 after previously serving as chief nurse, chief operating officer and deputy chief executive for CWPT.

As a registered nurse, Mel has extensive board-level experience and 36 years’ experience of working in the NHS. She also holds a number of national positions, which include chair of the National Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Nurse Directors Forum.

She held the role of director of nursing for quality, and deputy chief executive officer at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust for seven years before joining the Trust in October 2019.
