Rebecca Patel

Associate Director Health, Safety and Wellbeing, University Hospitals of Derby and Burton

Rebecca has had the privilege of working in all sectors during her career focusing on looking after others, enabling people to thrive and developing interventions to tackle equality and wellbeing issues. She joined the NHS in 2012 after working in the local authority, police and voluntary and community sector within the community cohesion and hate crime space. Rebecca has spent her career in people services in commissioning, specialist trusts, internal NHS consultancy and acute hospitals across the North West, before a move closer to home in 2025 to University Hospitals of Derby and Burton. Rebecca is passionate about role modelling behaviours and compassionate leadership in a challenging world. When not at work you can find Rebecca out and about with her border collie Shep or playing her trumpet and cornet in her local brass band and orchestra.
