The NHS Staff Council has reached agreement on a refresh of the NHS Terms and Conditions of Service (Agenda for Change), and following a consultation exercise, trade union members have voted to accept the proposed changes.
The deal will now be formally ratified at the NHS Staff Council on 27 June 2018. This will result in a three year pay deal, as well as the reform of the pay structure and changes to terms and conditions. The new pay structure will:
- increase starting salaries
- reduce the number of pay points
- shorten the amount of time it takes to reach the top of the pay band for most staff.
We have published a brief handout outlining at a high level the next steps organisations will need to take. We will be publishing further resources in the coming weeks.
