Carly Telford

Dr Carly Telford

Assistant Director, Do OD

Carly is an organisational and clinical psychologist, bringing a scientist/practitioner approach to her work. She began working in the NHS in 2009, and aside from a short study break and a role in the civil service, she has worked in the NHS both clinically and in OD ever since.

Carly’s previous work includes wide-scale interventions such as organisational culture change, smaller-scale teamwork including leadership and group processes, and targeted support such as a health and wellbeing programme for staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Carly joined NHS Employers from Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust, where she was assistant director of staff experience and OD. At NHS Employers Carly leads the Do OD programme, which aims to support, develop and represent NHS OD professionals.

Her work includes delivering the annual Do OD conference, developing courses for OD practitioners at advanced and senior levels, and supporting system colleagues amid large-scale change, with work commissioned by both DHSC and NHS England.
