Associate Director of Health, Safety and Working Environment, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

Matt is the associate director of health, safety and working environment at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. 

He is the co-chair of the NHS Staff Council's Health, Safety and Wellbeing Group and chair of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, Health and Social Care Community. Matt is also the health and safety topic lead for NHSE’s statutory and mandatory training review, and is leading on the new training materials for this. 

He has worked on safety improvements across healthcare, higher education and research, covering areas such as violence and aggression, sharps safety, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and biosafety.

Violence prevention and reduction is a major issue for the NHS, Matt is passionate about reducing the frequency and impact on our staff.
