NHS Employers comments on creation of Adult Social Care Negotiating Body
Responding to the government’s announcement on the creation of the Adult Social Care Negotiating Body, which will deliver the first ever Fair Pay Agreement for care workers, alongside an expansion of the Care Workforce Pathway, Oonagh Monkhouse, director of pay, reward and employment relations at NHS Employers, said:
“This is a positive development for care workers across England. For the first time, they will be given a strong voice and be represented by a new body that will bring together employers and trade unions to negotiate pay and employment standards on their behalf. This will improve recruitment, retention and ultimately the quality of services provided to users.
“Health and social care are intrinsically linked and strengthening the care workforce benefits both the NHS and the social care sector.”
