This notice advises of the publication of version 54 of the NHS Terms and Conditions of Service Handbook. The list of amendments are detailed below:

Paragraphs 33.5, 33.13 and 33.16 amended to reflect the Employment Relations (Flexible Working) Act 2023 (in force on 6 April 2024), including the requirement for employers to consult employees before refusing flexible working requests. |
Amended | Section 27: Working time regulations | Paragraphs 27.20, 27.21 and 27.23 amended to reflect existing Working Time Regulations (1988), specifically the regulations’ inclusion of regular overtime in the calculation of ‘normal hours’ for night workers. |
