How we will keep you safe moving forward
From 19 July, the government formally eased restrictions in England. In response the NHS Confederation, alongside other organisations, launched #NotTooMuchToMask, a campaign which calls on the public to pledge to keep themselves and others safe by following five steps.
With this in mind, the Events Services Team will be encouraging staff and delegates to follow the call to action by wearing masks or a face covering whenever possible, by being considerate of others’ personal space and making use of hand sanitizer stations or washing hands frequently.
Venues may request delegates to take extra precautions and we ask that you follow and respect the rules of each venue, this may include ‘checking in’ using the track and trace app. We will share any additional guidance on the event webpage and in the email you will receive approx. 2 weeks before the event date. As a rule, we will not be asking for a ‘vaccine passport’ when attending an event, however we do actively encourage clients to get both doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
We will continue to provide the high level of customer service as we move forward onto the next stage and will be happy to answer any questions you have about the event you are attending.
We look forward to welcoming you back to live events.
Frequently asked questions
The government is still recommending the use of facemasks or coverings to be worn in crowded indoor environments. As everyone moves at their own pace as society reopens it is important, now more than ever, to be respectful of those around us. As an organisation we are encouraging the use of facemasks or coverings (unless exempt) when you meet in an indoor space. We understand that this might not be possible in all situations, for instance a drinks reception, therefore we ask you to be considerate of your peers and give people extra space if you choose or are unable to wear a mask.
As we cautiously reopen society, we will be asking delegates to be respectful of others by keeping your distance and being aware of personal space. Some venues may have floor markers or request delegates to adhere to additional social distancing, please respect these rules and follow guidance from the venue and event manager.
We will be checking the venue's risk assessment for each event with specific focus on how they are COVID-secure. With this in mind, we will be promoting enhanced cleaning regimes and good ventilation in the venue.
We won’t be asking clients for a ‘vaccine passport' to attend events, but actively encourage self-testing, especially if you are displaying any symptoms. It will be down to the venue’s discretion if they wish to ask delegates to ‘check in’ on arrival or self-test and display a negative result before attending an event. If you are asked to self-test prior to an event, this will be included within the joining instructions email that you will receive approx.2 weeks before the event. You will be able to display your results on the NHS app (this is separate to the test and trace app).
In line with government advice, we are encouraging anyone with any symptoms to self-test before attending an event to ensure they do not have COVID-19. If positive, please stay away from the event to protect your colleagues and our staff and book a PCR test immediately.
