Disclosure and Barring Service webinar series 2025

NHS Employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) have co-hosted the latest series of webinar workshops which explore the different aspects of undertaking DBS checks, to help employers understand the requirements.
All three workshops in the series are aimed at individuals in recruitment and HR roles within NHS organisations who have responsibility for engaging with DBS processes and legislation, including those who:
- decide on levels of checks to be applied for
- carry out recruitment or manage staff in regulated activity
- have responsibility for safeguarding.
Disclosure and eligibility
On 4 June we hosted the first in our series of webinars, in partnership with the DBS.
This session provided an opportunity to learn more about the different levels of DBS checks and how to determine eligibility for different roles.
Barring and referrals
On 26 June, we hosted the second webinar which explored barring and an employer's legal duty to make referrals to the DBS.
DBS enhanced application process
The third and final webinar in the series takes place on 8 July. This workshop will focus on the enhanced application process, including a detailed outline and tips for completing this type of application. You still have time to register for this session if you haven't already.
The recording will be uploaded to this page after the webinar has concluded.
