Our ready reckoner tool helps staff understand their pension tax position. These posters can be used in your organisation to promote the tool to staff. There are two versions to choose from:
What is the ready reckoner?
Our ready reckoner is designed to help staff understand the benefits they are building up in the NHS Pension Scheme and their annual allowance position.
The ready reckoner helps staff understand if they are likely to be affected by the annual allowance, using a traffic light system:
Green – they are projected to be well under the annual allowance.
Amber - they are projected to be reasonably close to the annual allowance.
Red - they are projected to breach the annual allowance.
If an employee has a red or amber rating, the NHS Pension Scheme may still provide good value for money. We recommend you encourage staff to speak to an independent financial adviser to help them decide what to do next.
