Agenda for change mileage reimbursement rates review – April 2025
The bi-annual review of mileage reimbursement rates has been carried out, in line with the process set out in the NHS TCS Handbook.
As set out in NHS TCS Handbook, mileage reimbursement rates are reviewed twice a year. This is done in April and November, and allows the latest costs of fuel to be incorporated into the calculation.
The April 2025 rates have now been reviewed and the change did not meet the 5 per cent threshold that triggers a change, so there is no further update to the mileage rates at this time.
Section 17 and Annex 12 of the NHS Terms and Conditions of Service (TCS) Handbook set out the reimbursement rates for employees who use their personal vehicle to carry out their work duties.
The next review will be undertaken in November 2025.
