DBS publishes latest business plan
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) has published its 2026-2027 business plan, outlining priorities for improving services and delivering better public outcomes.
The DBS exists to protect the public by helping employers make safer recruitment and employment decisions through the provision of criminal record information, and by barring individuals who pose a risk to vulnerable people.
This year, the DBS is prioritising increasing collaboration with external stakeholders. It will launch an External Customer Advisory Panel to bring in partner and customer views and will expand its outreach activity to help partners understand and use services more effectively.
Additionally, the DBS plans to identify and introduce new technologies, find better ways to collect and analyse equality data, and deliver its Workforce Strategy, embedding modern and flexible ways of working and investing in learning and leadership.
