HCSA changes name to Hospital Doctors Union

The Hospital Consultants and Specialists Association (HCSA) has changed its name to the Hospital Doctors Union (HDU).

The change was announced on 22 October 2026, following approval by the organisation's membership. According to the union, the new name better reflects its role as a UK-wide trade union representing doctors and dentists across all grades.

The change is a rebrand of the existing organisation and does not affect its status as a recognised trade union.
