Procurement of a new national digital platform for job evaluation

To assist with the procurement of a new national digital platform for JE, employers are asked to complete a survey detailing existing local JE systems

6 March 2026

To inform planning for a new national job evaluation platform, provider trusts (excluding the ambulance service who have already provided data) are asked to complete a short survey detailing their existing local job evaluation software solutions. Employers are asked to complete the survey by 6pm on Friday 20 March 2026.

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), NHS England and NHS Employers, in partnership with the NHS Staff Council, are progressing the procurement of a new national job evaluation (JE) platform to support application of the NHS Job Evaluation Scheme in England.

This is part of the work to deliver on recommendations accepted by Secretary of State to build capacity and restore confidence in job evaluation.

To share your local job evaluation software information, please complete this survey by Friday 20 March.

On 1 April 2026 a new annex to the NHS Terms and Conditions of Service Handbook will be published relating to the requirements of the NHS Job Evaluation Scheme.

The publication of this annex is another part of a programme of work committed to by the government to restore confidence in and build local capacity to improve job evaluation practice across the NHS.

See the new annex 31 wording and frequently asked questions.
