PSA reviews standards following consultation
The Professional Standards Authority (PSA) is in the final phase of reviewing its standards of good regulation and standards for accredited registers, using feedback from a public consultation.
The PSA is the UK’s independent regulatory oversight body for people working in health and social care. Earlier this year the PSA launched a consultation about its standards and subsequently published an outcome report and evidence review.
A new set of standards for regulators and accredited registers have now been drafted. During the coming weeks the PSA will be engaging with a range of stakeholders on these drafts, to test thinking and ensure that the new standards are fit for the future.
The revised standards are expected to be published in early 2026.
