Share your views in our apprenticeships in practice survey
NHS Employers is calling on NHS organisations to share their experience of using apprenticeships, as part of a new survey aimed at strengthening workforce supply and influencing future policy.
The survey seeks to gather practical insight into how NHS employers are currently using, and planning to use, the Growth and Skills Levy (previously known as the Apprenticeship Levy). The findings will help NHS Employers understand current levels of investment, identify common challenges, and shape practical support to help employers make best use of apprenticeships.
Apprenticeships continue to play an important role in developing the NHS workforce, supporting recruitment, progression and widening participation. As national policy and funding arrangements continue to evolve, it is essential that NHS employers’ experiences and concerns are clearly understood and represented.
Purpose of the survey
The survey has been designed to:
- build a national picture of how apprenticeships are being used across different NHS organisations
- understand the barriers employers face in spending levy funds effectively, particularly following recent levy funding changes
- help shape future guidance, policy positions and practical support for the NHS workforce.
Your responses will help us to understand employers’ concerns, so we can represent your views and influence government policy on your behalf, provide feedback to government on the impact of recently announced reforms to the apprenticeship system and inform discussions on any future system changes proposed by government.
Take part
The survey is open to anyone who is involved in managing apprenticeships in the NHS and closes on Friday 29 May 2026. Complete the NHS apprenticeships in practice survey.
