SAS doctors vote against the government’s pay offer

The British Medical Association (BMA) has announced that its specialty and specialist (SAS) doctors have voted against the offer.

Today (1 March) the BMA reported a majority no vote with 62.3 per cent of respondents rejecting the offer. 

Next steps 

The BMA has expressed its desire to continue talks with government and hope an improved offer can be put forward to members. 

The SAS Committee has not made a call for industrial action at this time but do retain an active mandate to take further action if necessary.
